Dualtron New Achilleus – Performance and Durability
The Dualtron New Achilleus is a powerful electric scooter that combines extreme performance with a robust and thoughtful design – built for serious riding. The model has taken many lessons from the legendary Dualtron Thunder, but in a slightly more compact and updated format.
Construction and Design
Robust frame:
The frame and handlebars are made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy (6082-T6), ensuring high strength and stiffness. The axle components are made of SCM440 steel.
Shock absorption:
Equipped with Dualtron's new adjustable dual rubber shock absorbers both front and rear. The suspension system can be adjusted in multiple steps and has interchangeable cartridges of different hardness, allowing for fine-tuning of comfort for various surfaces.
Brakes and tires:
Achilleus is equipped with fully hydraulic Nutt brakes front and rear, often complemented by E-ABS (electronic ABS) for strong and reliable braking power. It rolls on 11-inch wide tubeless tires, which reduces the risk of punctures and increases comfort.
Features:
The model has a foldable handlebar for easier transport and storage, a dedicated footrest at the back with integrated brake lights, as well as a reinforced support leg.
Battery
High capacity:
Achilleus uses a powerful 60 Volt (60V) lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 35 Ah. The battery is built with high-performance LG or Samsung 21700 cells.
Range:
This battery capacity provides a maximum range of up to 120 km under optimal conditions (range varies depending on driving style, terrain, and weight).
Electronics and Performance
Motor:
The electric scooter is powered by dual BLDC hub motors (brushless) with a maximum output of up to 4648W (approximately 2324W per motor). This power provides impressive acceleration and climbing ability.
Controllers:
Two 60V 35A controllers efficiently manage the power transfer.
Display:
Equipped with an EY4 LCD display, often water-resistant (IPX7 rated) and with APP/Bluetooth compatibility. The display gives the rider control over speed, battery level, riding settings (P-settings), and lighting.
Lighting:
Achilleus has an extensive LED lighting system that includes integrated side lights in the arm and steering column, dedicated headlights, taillights, and turn signals for increased safety.
